What types of air control are available for stoves?
Air is an important element in connection with fire. Depending on the amount of air, the wood ignites and burns faster or slower. Modern stoves have clever air regulation technologies. Find out what these are and how they work here.
Manual air regulation
With manual air regulation of the stove, you determine how much air the fire receives and when. You use a regulator to control the air supply in each firing phase (please observe the manufacturer's user manual). Please also read our tip "Correct firing in a wood stove".
Automatic air regulation
The stove's automatic air regulation system takes care of regulating the air supply for you. All you have to do is place the right amount of dry wood in the firebox and light it - the technology does the rest. In each firing phase, it automatically ensures the supply of exactly the right air mixture of primary, secondary and tertiary air into the firebox.
The result of the constantly optimised air volume in the firebox is permanently low emission values in terms of fine dust and CO. You can also reduce wood costs, as the technology requires less wood per firing.
Various stoves from Attika are equipped with the pioneering automatic burn-off controls CleverAIR™ and ElectronicAIR™. Finely tuned thermobimetals (CleverAIR™) or electronic heat sensors (ElectronicAIR™) combined with robust mechanics make it easy for you to regulate the air supply.
Take a look at the video on CleverAIR™ technology:
In addition to the ideal air regulation, the choice of wood type, size and humidity of the wood logs and fuelwood requirement are decisive for a beautiful fire. Read our blog post about the perfect firewood. Correct installation and connection of the stove to the appropriate flue gas system is also an important component.
Your local Attika dealer will be happy to show you the three types of air regulation.
Elegant proportions, solid construction and a detail-orientated design go hand in hand with the PILAR premium stove. With PILAR, you can choose between three different technologies to control the ideal air supply: Manual, CleverAIR™ and ElectronicAIR™.
