4 questions and answers about CleverAIR™

CleverAIR™ is the automatic burn-off control system from Attika. But why is it needed and what benefits does it bring to your home?

What does CleverAIR™ mean?

CleverAIR™ is the brand name of the automatic burn-off control from Attika. An automatic burn-off control system regulates the air supply into the firebox of a stove. Stoves with automatic burn-off control therefore no longer have a lever or slider that can be used to manually regulate the air supply.

Why do we need CleverAIR™?

An automatic burn-off control such as CleverAIR™ technology has significant ecological advantages when operating a stove. It eliminates operating errors that can occur when manually adjusting the fresh air supply (i.e. too much or too little air). CleverAIR™ guarantees exactly the right air mixture in the firebox at all times and therefore permanently low emission values in terms of particulate matter and CO.

And how does CleverAIR™ benefit me personally?

If your Attika stove is equipped with CleverAIR™ technology, all you have to do is insert dry wood into the firebox and light it - the technology conveniently takes care of everything else. There is no need to manually adjust the air slide (which you would theoretically have to keep a constant eye on during each fire in order to fire correctly and efficiently).

What's more, wood stoves with CleverAIR™ technology use up to 30% less wood - simply because the technology never forgets to reduce the fresh air supply at the right moment. This reduction in wood consumption has a positive effect on operating costs and your wallet.

How exactly does CleverAIR™ work?

The CleverAIR™ unit works purely mechanically, without electronics and without electricity. A heat-sensitive thermobimetal in the CleverAIR™ control unit moves the round air control plate through its natural bending movement. This ensures that the exact right mixture of primary, secondary and tertiary air is continuously supplied to the firebox in every firing phase. Thermobimetal technology has also proven itself millions of times over in other applications (for example in kettles). It is trouble-free and maintenance-free when fired correctly.

Many Attika stoves are equipped with CleverAIR™ technology as standard. With the successful VIVA L model series (VIVA 100 L, VIVA 120 L, VIVA 140 L and VIVA 160 L), automatic burn-off control can be selected as part of the customised-concept.
