Founding of AC Cheminéeofen AG. After intensive market research, the company represents two other companies and starts to develop their own models. 2 staff members.

1985

Growing interest in coal fireplace ovens in Switzerland as result of AC Cheminéeofen AG. 7 members of staff.

1987

Founding of Kachel-Design AG.

1988

Development of the SCALA freestanding fireplace/stove, using new type of burning technology.

1991

AC develops their own line of steel fireplace/stoves produced in Denmark. First sales activities in Germany. KD becomes the representative of RAIS for Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
16 staff members and 3 apprentices.

1993

An independent range is created under the brandname 'attika'. 'Topolino' is developed in cooperation with external designers and with support of 'Bundesamt für Energiewirtschaft' (Federal Office for Energy) in conjunction with Energie 2000 project.

1995

Takeover of RAIS A/S (Denmark) with 65 members of staff.

1998

Companies AC and KD merge to become ATTIKA FEUER AG.

2000

ATTIKA FEUER AG becomes market leader for main markets. 30 staff members and 3 apprentices.

2002

Moved to Cham into the new company headquarters.

2003

Q-BIC was awarded a prize for excellent design in the DESIGN PLUS competition and was nominated for the 2004 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

2005

GEO wins the 2005 reddot design award and is nominated for the 2006 Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany. On the occasion of the Swissbau trade fair in Basel, we present a innovation for the market: Gas fire for the home.

2008

Introduction of fireplace inserts PURE with a practically frameless glass mount.

2009

Attika has won first prize for wood stoves for the second time in Atlanta (USA). With OPUS having been Vesta Award Winner 2008, PILAR was crowned Vesta Award Winner in 2009. Its design and engineering were commended as innovative and outstanding.

2010

DeLIGHT© the new outdoor gas fire collection for garden and terraces.

2013

In bionic fire™,  Attika is launching a wood fireplace with afterburning on the market. It is the cleanest wood fireplace in the world at the moment.

2014

The launch of New PILAR marks the birth of the CleverAIR™ automatic combustion control system - a milestone in combustion technology and user friendliness. The new stove wins the interior innovation award 2014.

2016

Introduction of fireplace inserts VISIO.

2017

The successful VIVA L series with VIVA 100 LVIVA 120 L and VIVA 160 L has been honoured with the prestigious Red Dot Design Award.

Introduction of the free-standing gas stove VIVA L GAS.

2018

The successful NEXO series with NEXO 100NEXO 120NEXO 140NEXO 160 and NEXO 185 has been honoured with the prestigious GERMAN DESIGN AWARD.

2019

Redesign of the Attika flagship PILAR and simultaneous introduction of the automatic electronic combustion control ElectronicAIR™. The PILAR stove wins the DESIGN PLUS by ISH prize.

Introduction of VISIO gas fireplaces with a wide range of model variants. Simple design, best burner technology and most beautiful gas fire distinguish the VISIO - line.

2020

The VISIO GAS product line wins the GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2020.

2021

MAX 600 wins the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2021.

 

Since 40 years of innovation in the art of fire. The company and its subsidiaries have a current workforce of around 130 along with a number of apprentices, all of them dedicated to producing premium-quality fireplaces. Attika - Progress born of passion.
