Service
Maintenance and checkups
Moving parts as well as door seals can wear out, depending on how often they are used. Your a t t I k a dealer can offer inexpensive service and maintenance. These important tips will enable you to enjoy your stove for a long time.
Correct Operation
First priority: Make sure this valuable piece of furniture is operated correctly. In our operating manual "How to", you will find all the required information.
Cleaning Your Stove
Wipe the steel parts of your stove with a clean, dry cloth. Soapstone and ceramic parts can be cleaned with mild soapy water.
Clean the ceramic glass with commercial cleaning agents or our special glass cleaner. To protect the door seals, do not spray the cleaning agent directly onto the glass panel. Use a cloth. An environmentally-friendly way of cleaning ceramic glass is by using ash. Dip a moist piece of newspaper or kitchen paper in the cold ash, rub it on the glass, then wipe it with a dry piece of paper.
Regular Maintenance
Seals
Always check the seals of your stove at the start of the heating season. Replace any damaged seals. You can obtain a new set of seals from your attika specialized dealer who will also assist you with changing the seals.
Firebricks/Vermeculite panels
The firebricks/vermeculite panels protect the body of the stove from overheating. In the long run, the extreme variations in temperature can cause cracks in the firebox lining; these do not impair the functionality of your stove. The bricks do not have to be replaced unless they are crumbling away as a result of many years of use. You can easily replace them yourself if you wish. Of course this can also be done by your specialized dealer.
Regular Checkups by the Chimney Sweeper
The chimney sweeper should check and clean the chimney, the fireplace and the flue tubes once a year (depending on regional regulations). If any deflexion plates have to be removed, please ensure that they are reinstalled correctly.
